What? Separation of church and state? Scientific study and research vs. [at least one] religion’s (that is popular in the United States) opinions and thoughts based on certain readings/teachings (given that some of the people mentioned Christian or Catholic backgrounds). How can these people think these things? Just kidding, I can totally understand why these people would think some of the things they are saying. In the United States, a lot of people are really wrapped up in religion and we are under the impression that we are founded as a Christian nation, that everyone is Christian (and if you aren’t you should be shunned), and that is important to spread religious ideas, propoganda, and teachings through education, government (laws, politicians), and public areas. How conveniently a lot of people forget the separation of church and state we are supposed to have because religion is not important to some people and one person’s religion shouldn’t have influence over another person’s life (right? I thought America was a free country?).
